"Overvalued" or any other narrative you want to throw at them, you just can't keep the banks down... Today's Uptrends Scan list sports National Australia Bank (NAB) and Westpac Banking Corp. (WBC), as well as the Vaneck Australian Banks ETF (MVB).
What about ANZ Group (ANZ) and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA)? I hear you ask! ๐ค
They didn't make the conviction uptrends list today, but I do note that ANZ remains in sound short and long term uptrends. It's price action and candles could be better though. As for "which bank" is the only of the Big 4 that's not in a state of short and long term uptrends โ CBA is far from showing signs of demand-side control of its price.
Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) chart
It's not a total write off โ a move back above ~$175 would likely right the ship here โ but if you compare CBA's chart above to the other three, it's clear the big fund managers are not piling into CBA like they were prior to the June peak.
I'll leave you today with a few recent ChartWatch ASX Scans success stories (I know they're not all this good, or even good at all โ but let me bask in the glory of these picks just for a little while! ๐). I promise you that I had no idea what any of these stocks did prior to putting them in my High Conviction (Feature Uptrend) list*.
4DMEDICAL (4DX) First featured on 11-Aug @ $0.48 > $1.78 (hit a high of >$2.30!!!) (5x Feature Uptrend)
Dateline Resources (DTR) First featured 5-May @ $0.078 > $0.305 (9x Feature Uptrend)

(*...and does this concern you!? ๐ค)

Some investors prefer to buy those stocks in strong uptrends, and avoid, sell, or short sell those stocks in strong downtrends โ but how you use the lists is really up to you!
Note, many stocks in both lists have appeared there many times before. As long as they keep meeting my criteria โ they'll keep appearing. But note, there won't be any notifications when they don't โ so you'll have to do your own research on when a particular trend changes!

Important considerations when using the ChartWatch Daily ASX Scans:
1. The future is unknown. Anything can happen to change the trends in the lists above. A stock in a perfect uptrend or downtrend may not remain that way by the close of trading today. 2. These lists are not exhaustive, they are curated by Carl. You will find that certain stocks might not appear in a particular list on consecutive days but might reappear when Carl feels it deserves to return to the list. 3. This is not a recommendation service, merely an aid to help you better understand the workings of Carlโs technical analysis model in a practical way. Carl will not alert you to stocks that have dropped off a list because their trend has changed โ it's up to you to apply the criteria to determine why a particular stock might not still be included. 4. This is general, educational information only โ so always do your own research!!!
