A super interesting mix of blue chip stalwarts and mining companies, big and small today. The blue chips camp is headed up by arguably two of the bluest of blue chips on the ASX in Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) and Telstra (TLS). Coles Group (COL), JB Hi-fi (JBH), and Bank of Queensland (BOQ) aren't slouches in the blue chips stakes, either.
All feature in today's Uptrends Scan List, and by feature – I mean "Feature Uptrend" = Highest conviction.
Joining them in the Uptrends Scan List are a mix of gold and rare earths stocks whose charts continue to push from the bottom left to the top right. There are too many to list here, so keep scrolling to view the charts of what I believe are the best of them (headline grabbers Lynas Rare Earths (LYC) and Arafura Rare Earths (ARU) deserve a special mention!).
The yangs to these yings can be found in the Downtrends Scans Lists. Many are repeat offenders, like Domino's Pizza Enerprises (DMP) – a stock that has the dubious honour of appearing as a Feature Downtrend 32 times in the last 11 months.
For those who look at the constituents of the Downtrends Scan List and think, "Well surely they can't go any lower" – perhaps study the chart of The Star Entertainment Group (SGR) very closely. It proves you never quite know! 📉
Welcome to my ChartWatch Daily ASX Scans series. Here I present scan lists based on my trend following technical analysis methodology. My goal is to alert you to the best uptrends and downtrends on the ASX.
Feel free to get your favourite AI to convert the tables below into lists you can upload to your favourite trading platform like TradingView. Then you'll be able to skip from chart to chart and quickly and easily see the best uptrends and downtrends on the ASX.
Some investors prefer to buy those stocks in strong uptrends, and avoid, sell, or short sell those stocks in strong downtrends – but how you use the lists is really up to you!
Note, many stocks in both lists have appeared there many times before. As long as they keep meeting my criteria – they'll keep appearing. But note, there won't be any notifications when they don't, so you'll have to do your own research on when a particular trend changes!
