TMK Energy (ASX:TMK) is moving towards an updated resource estimate for the gas reserves contained at its Gurvantes XXXV CSG project, with the results of final desorption tests from the Snow Leopard campaign trickling in.
That resource will be published by Netherland, Sewell and Associates (NSAI), expected to be published by mid-November.
Final gas contents readings will be delivered to the company within the month from SL-03R, SL-04, SL-05, and SL-05R.
The company continues to report high-quality natural gas at concentrations of 96% methane coming from two coal seams underground stacked one on top of the other. Natural gas is mostly methane. Gas saturation levels are at up to 80%.
TMK Energy’s pilot well program will be spud alongside the Snow Leopard-2 (SL-2) well, which confirmed a two-tiered coal seam system underground.
SL-05R has also been revealed as the company’s best well in terms of permeability, suggesting a high chance of success in extracting natural gas from the asset.
“Work continues apace following completion of the drilling program with focus now shifting to completion of the initial contingent resource estimate,” TMK Energy CEO Brendan Statts said.
“At this stage, the planned 2023 program includes drilling several step out exploration wells along strike that we anticipate will continue to prove up the scale of the project.”
“[We also expect to] demonstrate the proof of concept with gas to surface from our initial pilot well program.”
