BetMakers: New CEO loading up
BetMakers announced a management restructure on 31 January where Tekkorp Capital's Matt Davey was appointed as Group President and Executive Chairman. Davey was a former member of the BetMakers board and sold his stake in Australian bookie Betr to assume the new leadership role.
Between 1-3 March, Davey purchased a total of 3 million shares valued at $611,999 at 20.4 cents per share. That position is currently up a cool 15%.
Hastings Tech: An unloved rare earths explorer
Hastings is progressing the Yangibana rare earths project in WA which remains on track for first production in 2024. However, its share price has taken a turn for the worse, down 25% year-to-date compared to rivals Arafura Rare Earths (ASX: ARU) which is up 30% year-to-date.
Executive Chairman Charles Lew purchased another 108,000 shares valued at $265,958 at $2.46 per share. This marks the first director transaction since October 2022.

Thorney Technologies: Aggressive director buying
Thorney Technologies is a listed investment company (LIC) with a 'broad mandate to invest in technology-related investments at all phases of the investment lifecycle'. The LIC previously reported net tangible assets per share of 34.8 cents (as at 31 December 2022) and currently trades at 20 cents.
Interestingly, Chairman Alexander Waislitz purchase the company's stock 89 times since March 2020. He's accumulated 40 million shares at an average price of approximately 28 cents for $19.8 million.
