Mr Hawker has over 40 years in the financial services industry, including as CEO and Managing Director of Insurance Australia Group. He has held senior positions at Westpac Banking Corporation and Citibank in Australia and Europe. He currently serves on the Boards of Allianz Australia & NZ, BUPA Group Board headquartered in the UK, BUPA Australia & NZ and the Museum of Contemporary Art. He was previously the Director of Westpac Banking Corporation, Macquarie Bank, Aviva plc and Vicinity Centres Limited. He was also previously the Lead Independent Director of Washington H. Soul Pattinson Limited and Altium Limited. He was also President of the Insurance Council of Australia, Chairman of the Australian Financial Markets Association, a Board member of the Geneva Association and a member of the Financial Sector Advisory Council. In 2010, he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the community.
