Heather Smith

Dr Smith has over 20 years' experience in government, including as Secretary of the Australian departments of Industry, Innovation and Science, and Communications and the Arts, and as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Foreign Affairs and Trade and is a recipient of the Public Service Medal. She is a National President of the Australian Institute of International Affairs and an Independent Director of the Reef Restoration and Adaption Program. She also co-led the 2024 Independent Review of Australia's National Intelligence Community. Directorships of other listed companies: Non Executive Director of ASX Limited (appointed 29 June 2022) and Qantas Airways Limited (appointed 24 August 2023). She is member of the Group Risk Committee, Group People Committee, Independent and Related Party Committee.
