Heather Smith

Dr Smith has over 20 years' experience in government, including as Secretary of the Australian departments of Industry, Innovation and Science, and Communications and the Arts, and as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Foreign Affairs and Trade and is a recipient of the Public Service Medal. She is a National President of the Australian Institute of International Affairs and an Independent Director of the Reef Restoration and Adaption Program. She also co-led the 2024 Independent Review of Australia's National Intelligence Community.
