Mr Phillips has more than 40 years of technical, financial and managerial experience in the energy sector. He founded Australian Worldwide Exploration Limited (now Mitsui) in 1997 and was its Managing Director until his retirement in 2007. He re-joined as a Non-Executive Director in 2009 and held the position of Chairman until his retirement from the Board in November 2017. He was previously Chairman of Platinum Capital Limited (October 2009 - June 2015) and a Non-Executive Director of AGL Energy Limited (August 2007 - September 2016) and Sunshine Gas Limited. Bruce was appointed as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Karoon Energy Limited in January 2019 until his retirement in November 2023.
