Mr Pearson has experience in diplomacy, politics, the resources sector, media and international trade in Australia, the United States, East Asia and Europe. Brendan is currently Senior Adviser to the copper business of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Japan. Most recently, Brendan Pearson was Australian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the OECD from October 2021 to March 2025. From June 2019 to September 2021 he served as Senior Adviser (Trade and Investment) to the Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison MP, also serving in advisory roles to other senior Australian political leaders. Brendan served 9 years in senior roles at the Minerals Council of Australia, including 4 years as the chief executive. Brendan also served as Head of Public Policy for Peabody Energy Australia, as an Australian diplomat in Washington DC and as the North Asia correspondent for the Australian Financial Review based in Tokyo. He is member of the Health, Safety, Environment and Community Committee.
