Dr Meyer was the Chairman of the Board of Ciba Ltd from 2000 to 2009. He was also Chief Executive Officer of that company between 2001 and 2007. From 1995 until 2000, Dr Meyer was Executive Vice President of ABB Ltd and a member of that group's executive committee. Until April 2013, Dr Meyer was a Director of Zurich Financial Services and was, until the end of 2011, a member of the executive committee and the foundation Board of the International Institute for Management Development, IMD, in Lausanne, Switzerland. Dr Meyer is a former Director of Bracell Limited. He was Director of Bracell Limited (formerly Sateri Holdings Ltd) (June 2014 - October 2016).
