Mr Bell joined Bell Commodities alongside his brother Colin Bell in 1978, and he helped to build and develop Bell Financial Group's businesses in derivatives, equities and capital markets. Mr Bell has been a Director of Bell Potter Securities Ltd and Bell Potter Capital Ltd since 2001. Prior to joining Bell Commodities, Mr Bell was an executive at investment banks in Melbourne and London.
