WHAT TO WATCH TODAY

  • Gold: Another massive move for gold overnight, with CFDs up 1.1% to US$3,592/oz. This drove the VanEck Gold Miners ETF (GDX) up 2.7%. Expect a solid session for local gold names.

  • Lithium: Interesting to see lots of Chinese lithium miners like Ganfeng (+10.0%) hit limit up on Friday. Though no major moves for prices, with Chinese lithium carbonate futures up 1.3% to 74,260 yuan a tonne (down from mid-August peak of 90,100). Daily chart for names like Liontown, Pilbara Minerals looking relatively constructive.

  • Yield-sensitive sectors: US 2-and-10 year yields now at the lowest level since April, excluding those brief post-Liberation day lows, it's the lowest since October. Yield-sensitive sectors like Real Estate (+0.98%) was the best performing sector on Wall Street.
