Morning Wrap: ASX 200 to rise, Nvidia beats Q3 earnings expectations, Symal IPO at noon

ASX 200 futures are trading 11 points higher, up 0.13%, as of 8:30 am AEDT.

Nvidia just reported its Q3 earnings – which topped market expectations – but the stock is currently down 5% in after hours, the S&P 500 experienced a last minute rally to finish around breakeven, Target shares nosedive 20% after missing pretty much every key metric (EPS, margins and guidance) and construction biz Symal is set to debut at 12:00 pm AEDT.

WHAT TO WATCH TODAY

  • Symal IPO: Symal (SYL) is an Australian construction group focused on various activities including civil infrastructure, contracting, plant and equipment hire etc. The company has an indicative market cap of $436.9m, trading at a price-to-earnings of 10.5x FY25e and forecast dividend yield of 4.8%. Several industrial-related IPOs such as AAL and TEA have performed strongly (after a quiet debut) so it will be interesting to see how this one goes.

  • Nvidia earnings: Nvidia reported Q3 EPS of $0.81 vs. $0.75 estimates (8% beat), revenue of US$35.1bn vs. US$33.1bn estimates (5.9% beat) and guided to Q4 revenue of US$37.5bn vs. $37.0bn estimates. The stock is currently down 5% in after hours.

  • Block downgraded to Neutral from Outperform; target cut to US$88 from US$93 (BNP)

  • Emeco Holdings upgraded to Overweight from Neutral; target up to $1 from $0.85 (JARD)
