Market Wraps

Morning Wrap: ASX 200 to open higher, iron ore rises to over US$100/tonne, silver at 2012 highs

Fri 27 Sep 24, 8:35am (AEDT)

ASX 200 futures are up 19 points, or 0.22% to 8278, as of 8:25am AEST.

Will the ASX 200 smash another record high today? Futures are pointing to a small gain at the open, following Wall Street's lead. Iron ore prices are back over the US$100 per tonne level, copper is back over the US$10,000 mark, and gold has smashed through another record high. Even silver, a one-time darling of the commodity market, is at its highest level since 2012. Basically, as long as you're not an oil trader, it's looking pretty good.

Let's dive in.
