Ms Evans is an experienced non-executive director, business leader and corporate finance lawyer. Over a 35-year career, she has gained a range of commercial, business management, capital management, strategy and legal experience in the financial services, health, energy and infrastructure sectors. She was a corporate advisory partner at King & Wood Mallesons for more than 20 years and held key management positions at the firm including Managing Partner International in Hong Kong and Managing Partner, Practice in Sydney. Ms Wakefield Evans is currently a member of the Australia Future Fund Board of Guardians, and a Non-executive Director of Qube Holdings Limited, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, the GO Foundation, The University of New South Wales Foundation Limited and the Cruising Yacht Club Australia. She is also Chair of MetLife Australia and a member of the Australian Government Takeovers Panel. Ms Wakefield Evans previous non-executive directorships have included Viva Energy Group Limited (until April 2026), Lendlease Group (until November 2024) and Macquarie Group Limited (until February 2024). In 2019 Ms Wakefield Evans was invited by the Australian Government to be a member of the Australian delegation to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. She is a member of Chief Executive Women, and in 2023 was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of service to business, the law, and diversity. In 2026, she won the AFR BOSS Director Excellence award.
