Ms Murphy joined the Liberty Group from insurer IAG Ltd, where she performed a number of group executive roles including Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Transformation Officer. Prior to IAG she was an Executive General Manager with Promina Group and Vero Insurance. Leona is formally an independent director of Australian Insurance Association and Co-Chair of the UN Environmental Programs Financial Initiative for Sustainable Insurance, the NZ Accident Compensation Commission and Chair of Stone & Chalk and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Foundation. Leona is currently an independent director of RACQ Ltd, RACQ Bank and RACQ Insurance. She is also a member of Risk and Compliance Committee.
