Mr. Van Vuuren is a global executive with experience in corporate strategy, transformation, mergers and acquisitions, international finance, and ESG-focused investment. He most recently served as Senior Vice President Corporate Development at the Tadawul-listed Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden), where he has played a role in delivering the Company's ten fold growth strategy. Mr. Van Vuuren has held a range of other senior executive roles, including Group Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer and Group Chief Financial Officer at Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO), the publicly listed paper and packaging business in the Middle East. In this capacity, he was tasked with overseeing Corporate Strategy, Strategic Investments, M&A, Investor Relations, and Business Transformation. Prior to MEPCO, he served as Chief Investment Officer for a portfolio of companies established by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund to drive infrastructure and industrial development. His earlier career included senior finance and development roles with Etihad Airways, Sasol, and SABIC. Mr. Van Vuuren's international experience spans NYSE, JSE, and Tadawul-listed organisations, sovereign wealth entities, and GCC family offices. His sectoral experience covers mining, energy, petrochemicals, manufacturing, infrastructure, sustainability, and waste management.
