Mr Cockerill has global mining operational, project and executive experience having initially trained as a geologist. He previously served as Chair of BlackRock World Mining Trust plc (from 2016 to May 2019, having served on the board since September 2013), Lead Independent Director of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd (from 2012 to June 2019, having served on the board since August 2011), and a Non-executive Director of Orica Limited (from July 2010 to August 2019) and Endeavour Mining Corporation (from September 2013 to March 2019).
