Mr Mesquita has worked in the mining and metals industry for more than 40 years and has experience in mining and processing operations and major capital projects. Mr Mesquita spent 30 years with BHP where he held various positions in the company's base metals and aluminum businesses, including Asset President of Mozal Aluminum and Asset President of. During this time, he also served as Vice President Major Projects where he led the base metals projects program, overseeing more than US$10 billion in mining investments in countries including Chile, Australia and Peru. Mr Mesquita has experience in the global mining and metals industry with a particular focus on base metals and aluminum in the Americas and Africa. He is a member of the Governance and Sustainability Committee.
