Mr Giles was the tenth Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, holding office from 2013 until 2016. During his political career, he also held the portfolios of Economic Development, Major Projects, Transport, Infrastructure, Indigenous Affairs and Northern Australia. As the head of multiple government portfolios, He initiated several infrastructure projects including the rollout of solar power to Indigenous communities, and the establishment of the interstate gas pipeline between the NT and eastern Australia. Since leaving politics he has held several senior corporate roles, including as CEO of Hancock Agriculture and S Kidman & Co
