Talon Energy is an oil and gas explorer, poised for near-term exponential growth, with a focus on delivering long term shareholder value via its balanced portfolio of diversified assets in Australia and Mongolia.

Talon is targeting conventional Jurassic wet gas in the booming province of Western Australia’s Perth Basin and has a significant multi TCF prospect for Coal Seam Gas in Mongolia.

Joint ventures for two near-term projects have been acquired. A 45% non-operating interest in the Walyering Gas Prospect (Perth Basin) with Strike Energy (ASX:STX) and earning a 33% participating interest in the Gurvantes XXXV Coal Seam Gas Project (Mongolia) with TMK Energy (ASX:TMK).

Walyering is a confirmed gas discovery (Dec 2021) that is currently being flow tested. It holds a gross 86Bcf (gas) and 2.18mmbo (liquids) best estimate in place prospective resource (38.7Bcf and 0.98mmbo net to Talon).

The first of four drill holes targeting thick coal seams has begun (Mar 2022) at Gurvantes XXXV in Mongolia. The Gurvantes XXXV project has an independently certified 5.96 TCF (2U risked) Gross Prospective Resource.

Colby Hauser is an experienced energy executive with a broad range of experience in senior corporate, commercial, and project / business development roles in the energy sector, and most recently held the position of General Manager, Commercial at Strike Energy Limited. Working in both Australia and overseas Colby has developed a specialised skill set including corporate strategy, gas sales and marketing, joint venture representation, project development, as well as investor and government/stakeholder relations. He has significant long-term experience in the Perth Basin and is well known in the Perth energy community where he was formerly the President and is now a Life Member of the Energy Club of WA (formerly Petroleum Club of WA).

Colby graduated with a degree in International Business from MacEwan University (Edmonton) and a Master of Business Administration (Finance Specialisation) at the University of Western Australia.

David Casey was formerly the Managing Director and CEO of Talon Energy (ASX: TPD), transitioning to his current Non-Executive Director role in January 2022. Mr Casey graduated with an Honours degree in Geology from the University of Sydney in 1991 and has spent the past thirty years working in the oil and gas industry, both in Australia and overseas.

Mr Casey has been actively involved overseeing the start-up, development and sale of a number of successful exploration and production projects. And has been involved in the management and evaluation of all aspects of conventional and unconventional oil and gas exploration projects, from initial reservoir characterisation and fairway identification, through to drilling, testing and production operations. He has substantial experience managing ASX-listed entities, and is well known to the Australian institutional investment community.

He was previously Managing Director of Eastern Star Gas Limited and managed the sale of the company to Santos. Mr Casey was also Managing Director of Petrel Energy Limited and in 2019 oversaw the reverse takeover of Petrel by Warrego Energy Limited.

He has broad experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry has had significant dealings over the years with brokers, investment bankers and various government authorities alike.

Significantly, Mr Jendry has strong experience in the Perth Basin, commencing in the early 80’s when he was involved in the exploration and development of the Mt Horner oil field in the Northern Perth Basin with private company Pacific Basin Exploration.

Matt Worner is an experienced oil and gas executive who has worked with ASX and London listed E&P companies in various legal, commercial and new ventures/business development roles. He has overseen the completion of multiple asset acquisitions and divestments the world over, including Asia, Africa, US and Australasia as well as significant experience dealing with joint venture partners, host governments and NOCs in these regions.

Matt has strong capital markets experience in Australia and London including ASX and AIM IPO’s and capital raising activity. Through this work, Matt maintains solid contacts and relationships with brokers, funds and NOMADs in both Australia and the UK.

Natural Gas Project

Walyering - Perth Basin, Australia

  • 45% non-operating farm-in agreement with Strike Energy (STX)

  • A confirmed gas discovery (Dec 2021) that is currently being drilled and appraised

  • Holds a gross 86Bcf (gas) and 2.18mmbo (liquids) best estimate in place prospective resource (38.7Bcf and 0.98mmbo net to Talon).

  • Four gas-charged reservoirs intersected with a total gross thickness of 116 metres and total net pay of 51 metres, with an average porosity of 15.4%.

  • Flow testing underway at Walyering-5 with encouraging results

  • Drilling of the Walyering-6 well in May

Coal Seam Gas (CSG) Project

Gurvantes XXXV Project, Mongolia

  • Earning a 33% participating interest with Talon Energy (TPD)

  • Located in the South Gobi Basin, Mongolia, less than 20km from the Chinese-Mongolian border and close to the extensive Northern China gas transmission and distribution network.

  • The project covers 8,400 km2 in what is considered one of the most prospective under-explored basins for CSG globally.

  • 5.96 TCF of Independent Prospective Resource.

  • Commenced Drilling program with the first of the four holes spudded in March 2022

  • Remaining 3 holes to be drilled in the next 3-4 month period

 

Wet Gas Project

Ocean Hill - Perth Basin, Australia

  • Targeting conventional Jurassic wet gas play in Perth Basin W.A.

  • Right of first refusal (ROFR) granted with Strike Energy (STX)

  • Strike is planning to progress the Ocean Hill gas discovery towards conventional appraisal and exploration operations

  • Larger than Walyering, potential for material upside

 

Wet Gas Project

Condor-Perth Basin

  • Non-binding option agreement with Macallum Group Limited (Macallum Group) to acquire a 100% interest in the area covering the Condor Structure located on EP 494 and SPA-0081 (Condor Prospect) in the onshore Perth Basin.

  • Conventional sandstone reservoir targets are much shallower at Condor than offset fields

  • Should translate to better quality reservoir and cheaper drilling and completion costs

  • Similarly adjacent to infrastructure and with low processing costs, albeit higher expected condensate ratios than Walyering
